Island Hideaway

Beaver Island is located in Lake Michigan, approximately 35 miles northwest of the City of Charlevoix, Michigan. The Island is about 13 miles long, 6 miles wide, about 58.4 square miles in size, and has 41.6 miles of shore line. Transportation to the island is either by seasonal car ferry or by commercial air service year-round, from the Charlevoix County Airport to Wilke Airport on the island; ferry service ends with late November or early December. The current cost for the ferry can be found at: www.bibco.com. The Island has about 500 year round residents, 3,000 summer residents and 30,000 yearly visitors. 

Island Hideaway is a 320 acre parcel which was divided into 31 ten-acre parcels all of which are served by a private trail road and contain a driveway leading to a clearing for camping or building. The land is high and dry and fully wooded with a mature hardwood forest.

From the ferry dock at St. James Bay go south (left) to the first intersection, turn right (west) next to Ace Hardware and go to the next intersection then turn left (south) on Kings Highway, go 4 miles turn right (west) on to Pogenog Road (pronounced Paid-een-og’s Road) and go 1.5 miles to the intersections of Pogenog Road, Fox Lake Road and West Side Road, follow West Side Road 1.8 miles (approximately) turn left (south) onto a grassy Road which is Hideaway Trial (unmarked) follow Hideaway Trail about 600 feet to Parcel 2 to grassy drive on the left which leads in to the parcel.
